Kunstmuseum Den Haag has a treasure chamber of over 160.000 pieces of art. Here we work on making the highlights from this collection available online.
Paul Wallach (New York, 1960) makes small-scale abstract sculptures out of fragile materials like plaster, driftwood and rusted metal. These are usually installed within an interior space in such a way as to set up a dialogue between the space and the sculpture. The viewer then becomes a part of this dialogue. In that sense, the artist has given Minimalism a human dimension. Wallach is American but has been living for some time in Europe, first in Düsseldorf and now in Paris - a fact clearly apparent in his work.
