Kunstmuseum Den Haag has a treasure chamber of over 160.000 pieces of art. Here we work on making the highlights from this collection available online.
Discover Kunstmuseum Den Haag in a new way during the Female Gaze tours. These tours are led by artist and queer activist Yamuna Forzani, who takes you on a journey through a world full of personal stories, feminist perspectives, and queer energy.
Yamuna Forzani is a multidisciplinary artist and queer activist. Her work revolves around building an inclusive, utopian space in which her community takes center stage. Forzani works primarily with textiles and knitting, but her practice extends from fashion and costume to installations, performances, and public art projects. In all her work, she celebrates diversity, connection, and creativity.
During this 45-minute tour, you will view the collection of Kunstmuseum Den Haag through the eyes of Yamuna. Together with her, you will move past works by Jacoba van Heemskerck and Marie Tak van Poortvliet, as well as other highlights from the collection.
With her female gaze—a feminine, queer perspective—Yamuna emphasizes themes such as intimacy, spirituality, modernist experiments, feminism, and community. Expect a lively tour in which art is linked to personal reflections, social context, and surprising stories.
