Ivan Day will guide us through the fascinating history of everybody’s favourite frozen treat – from artificial trees hung with hundreds of ice cream fruits devoured in the intervals of 18th century operas, to fundraising parties in the US, where huge ice cream models of the Statue of Liberty were displayed and eaten, years before the real statue was built. Author of Ice Cream a History, Ivan has many years of experience in recreating the icy delights of our ancestors. He will surprise us with the visual splendour of these delicious glacial enchantments.
