Museumnacht Kids

Stay up late at the Art Museum!

On 28 March, Kunstmuseum Den Haag and Museumnacht Kids will be celebrating the arrival of spring. Discover the museum via the Activity Route, full of playful assignments, challenges and workshops. Take on the Mondrian Challenge at Victory Boogie Woogie, make your own sock puppet, listen with all your senses at Kamishibai storytelling theatre or try your hand at clay modelling in our museum studio. Come and see, make and do (and stay up a little late) among the works of art. Will you join us?

Programme

  • 17.00 - 21.00 (ages 3 to 12)

Let's watch and listen to a beautiful story together, told in a traditional Japanese storytelling style. We'll use all our senses as the storyteller's voice takes us from one page to the next. It'll be as if we're experiencing the adventure ourselves. Will you join us?

  • 17.00 - 21.00 (ages 4 to 12)

Follow the Activity Trail and complete all kinds of challenging tasks at works of art in the museum along the way. Experience what it's like to wander through the rooms of a doll's house, calculate the number of surfaces in a painting or draw an artistic animal: can you collect all the stickers? The Activity Trail takes you past all the activities and workshops in the Art Museum: you decide whether to stop or continue. That way, you won't miss a thing!

  • 17.00 - 21.00 (ages 3 to 12)

Get started with silver or gold cardboard and make virtual reality glasses to see the world in a whole new way! Step into the Style Rooms with your homemade VR glasses and you'll suddenly find yourself in a giant doll's house.

  • 17.00 - 21.00 (ages 3 to 12)

Inspired by the work of potter Jan van der Vaart, we will be working with clay in the studio itself. Just like Jan, make a round ball or cube and turn it into a real work of art! Or get creative and make whatever you like with clay.

  • 17.00 - 21.00 (ages 3 to 12)

Choose from all kinds of materials to make your own unique sock puppet! Choose a sock, make some wild hair or a bow and choose the cutest eyes: finally, bring the puppet to life with your own hands! Will you join the show? By the way, you can also bring your own favourite sock!

  • 17.00 - 21.00 (ages 9 to 12)

The Mondriaan Challenge is a collaborative game that you play in the room with Victory Boogie Woogie. Following Piet Mondriaan's rules, you discover which colours can and cannot be placed next to each other. By working together effectively, you can progress further and further. Every outcome is unique, just like a painting. The young creator of the game will also be there!

  • 17.00 - 21.00 (ages 9 to 12)

Discover Chambers of Wonder and lose yourself in art, fashion and design in spectacularly designed rooms. For children aged 9 and above, the museum game is ready to be discovered, played and experienced. Dance the boogie-woogie, walk the catwalk in fancy dress or immerse yourself in the value of art. Set off in pairs with a tablet, play (all) the rooms, earn points, and then end up in the Labyrinth to design your own digital wonder room with an art collection.

Met blote handen en houten ogen maakt Lejo een unieke, frisse vorm van poppentheater. Hands up! is een vrolijke, woordloze voorstelling boordevol muziek.
