Finally, the time has come: Saturday, March 16th, there is - especially for children - Museum Night Kids! In the evening, after closing time, the doors of the participating museums and cultural institutions will open specifically for visitors. The Kunstmuseum is, of course, participating!

Discover the Kunstmuseum with an adventurous museum route along beautiful paintings from the Hague School. The youngest visitors can explore the Style Rooms filled with animals and the historical dollhouse. In the Familieatelier, you can create your own artwork in a golden frame or participate in other creative workshops. Play Wonderkamers on a tablet and imagine yourself as an artist, model, or architect! Follow the audio tour of the exhibition 'Discover the Modern' with your phone and listen to stories and fun facts about the most beautiful artworks.

Feeling hungry? Come to our Garden Hall for treats and meanwhile enjoy the spectacular circus with acrobats and cheerful music. Conclude your visit by getting photographed in a painting. Let the adventures begin!

Duration: 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM, with the last entry at 8:30 PM.
For: families with children between the ages of 4 and 12.
Price: €7.50 per person, a wristband serves as the admission ticket.

  • Embark on an exciting journey through the exhibition "The Hague School in a Different Light" with a thrilling route in your hand. Step back in time, complete various tasks, search for the yellow balloon, and much more! Pick up the route in the lobby.

  • Who wouldn't want a tattoo of a unique artwork on their arm? At the Kunstmuseum during Museum Night Kids, you can get a real tattoo! Choose from various fun animals.

  • Did you know that you can easily make your own animal? With stuffing, old stockings, and funny eyes: really, anyone can do it! The only thing is: once it's born, you do have to take good care of it. Especially lots of cuddles! Will you join?

  • Get your photo taken in the landscape of the Hague School! Dress up with various props and imagine yourself in the nineteenth century.

  • For the youngest visitors, there's the museum route through the beautiful Style Rooms. You'll be amazed because the more closely you look, the more animals you'll discover! Can you mimic a parrot or a cow? Discover the smallest dog you've ever seen! Pick up the route in the lobby.

  • The artists of the youth circus Circaso are enthusiastic and energetic. With their joyful skills, they captivate both young and old. Enjoy the show and embark on a journey with the acrobats.

    Once the show is over, you can get hands-on in the workshop. Learn the most beautiful tricks from the acrobats themselves!

  • Always wanted to learn acrobatic skills? With the help of the artists from youth circus Circaso, you can practice the most beautiful arts. Learn how to juggle, walk on a large ball, or maintain your balance on a real unicycle!

    The workshop is closed between 5:30 PM – 5:45 PM, 6:30 PM – 6:45 PM, and 7:30 PM – 7:45 PM. During these times, you can enjoy The Great Circaso Children's Circus Show.

  • Go on an adventure together in Wonderkamers (9+) and play the challenging museum game on a tablet. Imagine yourself as an artist, a model, or an architect! Engage in various games and create your own wonder room at the end of the game.

  • Get hands-on as a real artist! Standing behind a professional easel, you'll sketch with graphite, just like the artists of De Haagse School. What you'll be sketching is a surprise, but it will be something special!

  • Get ready to dance at the Kunstmuseum! DJ Spinkit will provide lively beats all evening long.

  • Everyone is welcome in the museumatelier of the Kunstmuseum to draw and paint in a golden frame, just like the painters of De Haagse School. There is a choice of different frames, in which both young and old can make their own drawing with watercolor and then paint with water and a brush. Finally, like a real artist, you sign it. What you create can, of course, be taken home!

  • Feeling thirsty or hungry? At the Kunstmuseum Den Haag, you can grab a delicious bite to eat and enjoy a tasty drink! Take a seat at the picnic tables and take a moment to relax. There's a wide selection of options including delicious fries, a colorful fruit skewer, the tastiest crepes, or hotdogs!
