Kunstmuseum Den Haag has a treasure chamber of over 160.000 pieces of art. Here we work on making the highlights from this collection available online.
A presentation of approx. 800 musical instruments from the collection of the Gemeentemuseum (the only such publicly owned collection in the Netherlands). The display includes both Western and non-Western musical instruments and features in particular two grand pianos made by Erard. One was ordered by King Louis Napoleon in 1808 and is still in the possession of the Dutch royal family; the other was once owned by Dutch composer Alphons Diepenbrock and dates from 1825.
