Modemuze’s digital fitting mirror!

Enter the world of digital fashion heritage and wear unique museum costumes, from an 18th-century corset to a Dior design. This traveling digital fitting room mirror is part of the Unlocking FashionHeritage project by Modemuze.nl, a network and online platform of twenty Dutch and Flemish museums with fashion and jewelry collections. Kunstmuseum Den Haag is a partner and initiator of Modemuze. Especially for the exhibition DIOR - A New Look, the mirror is filled with a unique selection from the Modemuze collections. Kunstmuseum Den Haag is working with the Modemuze network on new ways to present artisanal and historical fashion heritage to the public. The aim is to make valuable objects, which are not permanently visible in museums due to their vulnerability, digitally accessible to a wide audience.

Stay informed and follow us at @modemuze.nl. Soon you will be able to discover a special selection of one hundred objects in detail on Modemuze.nl. The augmented reality mirror was created in collaboration with Buro Tijdlab, photographers Cees de Jonge (The Visual Art Box), Frans Pegt (Rijksmuseum) and Monique Vermeulen (Amsterdam Museum). Unlocking Fashion Heritage is made possible by Gieskes Strijbis Fonds and Innovatielabs.
