Royal Blue
Delft Blue: the iconic Dutch earthenware is known all over the world. It remains popular to this day, and although...
Kunstmuseum Den Haag has a treasure chamber of over 160.000 pieces of art. Here we work on making the highlights from this collection available online.
We regret to inform you that Royal Blue will be closed on 21 and 22 July. If you are coming to Kunstmuseum Den Haag specially for this exhibition, we advise you to postpone your visit until after the 22nd.
The installation of Royal Blue – William and Mary’s Finest Delftware was in full swing when Kunstmuseum Den Haag had to close. Work came to a standstill, and the coronavirus pandemic prevented some of the highlights of the exhibition being loaned by institutions like Hampton Court Palace and the V&A in London from being shipped to The Hague. Though the exhibition has been open since 1 June, it is not yet complete. Fortunately, however, it still includes some wonderful objects, including our recently purchased flower pyramids.
Over the coming period, the remaining items in the exhibition will be installed in phases, and it will remain open until 22 November. Royal Blue reunites some of the finest Delftware ever commissioned by William and Mary. Read more about the exhibition here.
