Marlow Moss: three paintings, two from 1932 and one from 1954
together 4500 guilders
Marlow Moss (1890-1958) came to Paris as a young painter in the 1920s and had close ties with Mondrian. She created a number of works in the style of Mondrian, which, however, clearly cannot be made by Mondrian. We are able to purchase these works by M. Moss from an estate at a very reasonable price. They are important to us as examples from the immediate environment in which Mondrian worked. The work from the 1950s shows how Mondrian's principles were later incorporated in its own way.
